I’ve been using this ruined whatever-it-is as a photography location for years, because it’s unlike pretty much anything else. Out in the middle of the woods, it’s unclear what purpose it ever served, even if its current purpose is mostly to be a place where kids can hang out and do any number of illicit things.
So, when the scavenger hunt list included “Architecture,” I knew I had to come back. I figured I could easily find something grand, but I really like finding the beauty in the not-so-grand. Although, when Angelina is included in the picture, the beauty is already pretty evident.
And as it turns out, her father came along on the shoot, and proposed the theory that the ruins used to be the mounting point for cables going across the river. That actually makes more sense than anything I’ve ever come up with.
